What I Learned From House Sitting

    1. Don’t put the dogs in the outdoors play area in overcast weather and expect them to come back in dry in 20 minutes.
    2. With the excitement of parents visiting and watching a movie, don’t expect younger dogs to be able to control their bowels.
    3. Be aware of allergens and their seasons…you may need extra facial tissues.

Besides that funny self, I also learned a bit about managing myself when I’m the one running the house. For example, keeping the place clean, doing some dishes, managing the alarm system and overall being responsible for the dogs and house were all great things to work on some. I also got to just hang out and practice on my practice pad, listen to music, work on the computer, play with the puppies and enjoy a home theater. Many thanks again to my employers. Best job in the world!

Another Cool Cross Picture

This is a little cross I made at Vacation Bible School when I was like eight. The background includes the dash of our Pontiac Grand Prix and the horizon along the highway we were traveling. What do you think?

This path, like other recent paths of posts, is leading me to the whole religion topic again. Sigh, I’ll write about it eventually.

Woot.com; House sitting #3

My buddy Cole, as usual, has shown me to a really cool website – woot.com. They offer one really good deal on a technology related product each day. Like really good deal. For example, as I sit here comparing yesterday’s woot deal to this week’s Best Buy ad:

Microsoft MX Revolution Cordless Rechargeable Laser Mouse
List Price: 99.99
Best Buy Price: 79.99
Woot.com’s Price: 34.99

Eat it, Best Buy. Today’s woot deal is a Siemens Bluetooth Cell Phone Car Kit … for $20.00!!!!! So be sure to check out woot daily. It looks as though it will become one of my good friends 🙂

This is my last morning as a house-sitter…at least for a while. I’m sad…it was good to have some freedom for a while, and to “get out of the house” so to speak. I think I’ll probably write a whole post about it this afternoon…like anyone cares about house-sitting. ha.

Pachelbel’s Cannon Rant

Here is a really funny comedian ranting about Pachelbel’s Cannon.

By the way – I learned how to drive a stick shift today. My brother needed my car and it’s better gas mileage for a long trip over the weekend, so I got landed with his truck. I think I did pretty well for my first day…didn’t kill it at all, even reversing up an incline.

Tonight is night 2 of 3 for my house-sitting job.

Almost London Car Bombing; House-sit Continues

In case you haven’t heard:

A car bomb planted in central London would have caused “carnage” if it had exploded, police say.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the car, packed with 60 litres of petrol, gas cylinders and nails, in Haymarket, near Piccadilly Circus.

An ambulance crew saw smoke coming from the green Mercedes, near the Tiger Tiger nightclub at 0130BST (030GMT).

London’s Park Lane was later cordoned off while a suspicious vehicle was investigated.

Scotland Yard, Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur urged people to be “alert and vigilant” and to report any suspicions to the police.

Looks like we’re going to have all sorts of heightened security when we go on our church trip to England 24 days from now since the threat level has been increased. But I never understand those threat levels. How do they know that the threat has heightened? Isn’t it more just like an “awareness level” since whenever they raise it the only thing that happens is heightened awareness. I don’t think some terrorists are going to go out bombing on a day when the threat level is on red, because, hey they’ll get caught. The system doesn’t make any sense to me! Anyway.

I’m sitting at home right now, getting things done on drums and such before I go back to my house sitting place right after dinner. Thanks for reading.

Cross and I (God too?)

So this is one of the best pictures I’ve seen. This was NOT taken by me…but a friend at church camp. That’s me there, by the cross…yeah.

I think it is a really nice and kind of a “deep” looking picture, even though I don’t really think I associate much of myself with God and church anymore. I’ve been reluctant to post about any more religion stuff, because I know some people will be mad at me. Just because I don’t believe in something shouldn’t change anything. I still have strong morals and good intentions.

Well, I’m going to read and go to sleep – here are my house-sitting house.

Combining DVDs

I just learned that you can combine multiple DVDs with DVDShrink. I’m using it to combine a Porcupine Tree concert (2 disc set) to one DVD. I’m so disc-thrifty.

Cadets 2006 Battery Feature

This was definitely my favorite drum feature of any drum corps show last season. I know it’s already been a year ago, but what the heck, I still giggle with glee every time I see it. Be careful – watch for the snare stick throw all the way down the line. Enjoy!

Reinstatement; Harry the Potter; House-sit

I have decided it is time to reinstate my dedication to this blog. I was surfing…stumbling around the internet today and ran across a lot of cool blogs…thus inspiring me. I’ve decided I’m going to stop trying to please everyone that ever glances their eyes across this place, and write more for myself and the sake of writing. So, maybe I’ll try adding one post daily (at least…to start…or restart I should say). Maybe I’ll have a contest with my self to see how useless of information I can grace my readers with. We’ll see.

So, for today: I’m just about to read and go to bed. I am currently reading Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. If I hadn’t mentioned it before, I’m reading THE WHOLE Harry Potter series again to prepare for the 7th and final book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which comes out on the 21st of July (I think). I started sometime around March or April and I’ve already read the first five. Right now I am almost halfway through the sixth one. So, I’ll probably finish that up really quick, and be sitting around waiting for numero 7, wishing I would have read the first 6 slower, so I wouldn’t be waiting so long…but then…ahh nevermind. (Is this stuff pointless enough to actually catch people’s attention?)

I have a house-sitting job, starting tomorrow (Thursday) night and running through Sunday afternoon. I’ve got two little nice doggies to get outside, feed, play with, etc everyday, along with newspapers to pick up, and security to ensure. It should be a good experience…I’ll see how it is to be kind of running a home for a few days. It’s actually really nice in the way that I’ll have wireless internet and a big screen projector. Yeah I’m going to be tech-ing out a little bit 🙂

Well, time to read Harry the Potter and get to sleep. I must sleep off this semi-sinus-infection I’ve been fighting for four days. G’night.
