I’m thinking I’m not liking the name of my blog very much. Its just sorta crappy and unorginal. How more typical can a user name followed by “Blog” be??
So I’m open for many suggestions. Many many. Dish ’em would’ja? Thanks.

In todays news news news from David David David:
1. Croc Hunter
2. Bike Riding
3. Freak Highway
4. General School
1. So as I’m sure, many of you have heard about the death of Steve Irwin, “Croc Hunter.” Here is a handy link if you haven’t read up on it. I’ll say that I was really suprised to wake up to this on CNN. This wonderful guy always seemed so invincable to me, and it really made me think about life. Rest well Stevie, we’ll miss you.
2. For the holiday the family and I (Mom dad and Jason) went to Columbia, MO home of the Mizzou Tigers!!!(though we didn’t go there for that) for a mini-vacation. The main point of the trip was to hit up some bike trails because Columbia has the best within a half days reach…they’re much better than Topekas. On Saturday afternoon my dad, brother and I took a twenty mile ride. Quite the fun. On Sunday morning, mother joined us and we did a 10 mile ride along the banks of the Missouri river…it was beautiful. I find self-propelling myself through the world (even short distances) to be quite fun.
3. Today my mom and I were coming home on the interstate (4 lanes, divided) and were in the right side lane (slow lane, because I’m just that wussy). All the sudden we realized someone was coming towards us in the left lane (fast lane, because those people are in a hurry). But this guy was hurrying in the wrong direction! What the heck? So as he briskly passed at 65mi an hour, I laid on my horn. He kept going, though put on the brakes some, so I hope he realized his fault soon after. But hey, that was extremely scary. What if I had decided to pass someone, or someone to pass me??
4. School is going good. I’m enjoying it very much, as I was expecting I guess. Marching band is coming together nicely, with the beautiful Amy directing the first two songs of our half time show ;). History is annoying but tolerable. English with Mr Dormer is a journey through wierdness, but I love that guy and the class is fun. Independent study (the class that everyone thinks wastes two hours of my day) is going good. We’re learning weekly vocabulary and I’m learning more about music as a career. I’ll also be checking out colleges and ACT and pre-SAT stuff soon. Choraliers is fun singing wise, and fun not-singing wise. AP Physics so far is comprehendable. I’ll have to dish out some trivia questions soon 🙂 And last Trig and Analysis is going good, because Mrs Montgomery makes it hyper and stuff.
So thats the new(s). Its been a while since I’ve posted and just about as long since you’ve commented…so I think you owe me some lovin’. THanks for reading 🙂
hehe, actually I did this like 2 weeks ago, but the internet went down in the middle of me making the post:
This is a duo…in a way. I recorded the rhythm guitar part…just a simple chord progression. Then I recorded a solo over it. Just meddlin’. Don’t expect anything good at all. 🙂

Wowzers. Remember my dillema in writing lyrics? Well all the sudden today I was driving home and thinking about wierd random things. Now don’t think I’m some person obsessed with crime or punishment haha, but this is what I wrote up. This is the first thing I’ve ever written that just seemed to flow – took me like ten or fifteen minutes, cluding a couple changes and revisions. I guess this is how writing is supposed to be?? Anyways here it is:
The Toll
The prisoner sits alone in his solitary cell
Watching the painful drip of a single cold faucet
No cartridge belt
No cards dealt
For oh so long
But he knows his toll.
The paralyzed girl thinks
To herself ‘Why did I drink so much?’
No action has she took
No swig of the hook
For oh so long
But she knows her toll.
All wrongs done
All deals gone bad
All quick unthoughtful decisions;
Onerous consequences
Hateful reminiscence
Until the days are up
Until the toll is served.
The woman trapped in a marriage
Fabricated upon wealth and status
She longs for real love
She longs for true happiness
But she knows her wrong
The man stuck on drugs
Living life oh so full
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
Stuck in a hopeless cycle
And hoping for no consequences.
All wrongs done
All deals gone bad
All quick unthoughtful decisions;
Onerous consequences
Hateful reminiscence
Until the days are up
Until the toll is served.
One day the toll will be up
The cons out again
The dark streak of society
Back full and strong
Perhaps out to change
To totally rearrange
Or perhaps out to rage
And to kill within range
All wrongs done
All deals gone bad
All quick unthoughtful decisions;
Onerous consequences
Hateful reminiscence
The day of second chances
The day of new opportunity
Awaits in the future
Once the days are up
and gone and done
Once the toll is served.

Toss me some comments…please!!!
Wowzors! Summer is all over. It was short, but boring, eventful, but boring, awesome, but boring. haha. Here’s how it panned out (I probably mentioned some of this in previous posts)
1. Went to church camp. Really awesome
2. Practiced and played drums TONS. Probably about 2-3 hours a day. And DON’T look at me like I’m crazy or a workoholic. I ENJOY playing my instrument. Many seem to not understand this concept…but hey it’s what I be doin yo.
3. Worked on the cpu A LOT. Currently I have my site where I want it. Simple but cool. Spent more time on Cole’s Forums than I should’ve. Spent not enough time on the Pearl Drummers Foum. haha. I also pursued a free Napster trial and a way to get around the file protection…lets just say I’m not stealing once byte of music. 🙂
4. Went to Columbia, MO for a drum corps show and the longest bike ride of my life – 20 miles. haha Not much but it was big for me. Hope to do more.
5. Picked up that thing called a guitar again. I posted some products of my work…though it wasn’t much. I’m going to post a new one after this post. Why? Becuase that makes a bit of sense…not really.
6. Went to Missionpalooza. Best mission/youth event everrrr. Dude awesome.
7. Got a new desk and chair for my room. Finally, no more neck and shoulder pain. Just comfort and even more computer!!!! ahhH!!!
8. Spent time with various friends.
9. Spent time with Amy. We did lots of stuff. Went to Lawrence, swimming, she came and sang at our church’s 4th of July celebration. Good stuff 🙂
10. Attended marching band marathons. I was very excited for it, and it was worth being excited for. This will be a good year for the Marching Thunderbird(s). Along in this category I create a THUNDERCUSSION WEBSITE!
11. I hope I’m not forgetting anything.
Anyways I’m really excited for this school year. I love school. Again, thats another one of those controversial statements. Well you know what? I love school. Because I like learning, and being at school with all my friends, etc, etc. I’m awaiting getting to know the new building, library, and all the other stuff the bond issue covered! yeah!
So good night all, on this last day of summer. It has been good. It has been good.
COMMENT ME NIZZOW. I’m missing the feedback I used to get. I’m so mizzzundastooodd waaaahhhh.
😉
Last night billy came over and we played together. Him = guitar. I = drums. Though I did pick around on my guitar with him some. We recorded a couple things we came up with…though its not good quality because we had to use our mp3 players’ built in mics. For some reason my laptop didn’t want to cooperate 🙁 Gotta fix dat.
Anyways, here is the audio clip. Its about 4 minutes and 30 seconds long I think.
[audio:davidbillyaug11.mp3]Toss me some comments. Its been a bit quiet round here.
Most of my friends know that my cat, Pistol, is extremely shy when people visit our house. Most of the time it is hard to get a picture of him because of his non-stop action. AND the dog is with him!

Yester (Wednesday August 9, 2006) they imploded part of the Topeka Boulevard bridge that had been standing for over 65 years. Big news for us Topekans!
I caught it on my camera – but uhhh this video isn’t from my camera. I found this video on youtube that was from a better angle and better quality.

I’m really interested to see how the new bridge is going to be. Like how will it fit in with the highway and all that.
