This thing amazing. It’s made from balsa wood and paper. I’m left wondering how many hours it must have taken to make. Too bad it isn’t playable!

^Read about it^
So right now I’m busy ripping drum CD’s to transfer to my Zen Vision:M. I have gotten a few new instructional books to go through with my teacher, Aaron.
1// “In The Pocket” – Dennis Chambers – A really good play along book for developing funk and rock chops, and learning to play with an ensemble. The only place I could find the book (rather than the DVD that doesn’t include the music and such) was at percussionmusic.com.
2// “The Jazz Drummer’s Reading Workbook” – Dr. Tom Morgan – This one is another play along sort of thing for Jazz instead of funk. It’s REALLY great for developing taste in jazz. Plus, it’s written by the percussion professor at Washburn University, my local college place. 🙂
3// “Rhythm & Meter Patterns” – Gary Chaffe – Another book I’m running through with my teacher. It includes odd rhythms, mixed meters, metric modulation, and polyrhythms…all crazy sounding stuff. If you don’t know what those mean think of playing septuplets (groups of 7) instead of sixteenth notes (groups of 4). Really fun stuff!
Thanks for reading! Comments are allowed…I mean…demanded!
Man, that drumset’s sweet. Have fun with your new books and chops.
Don’t let the fact that I’m commenting make you think you can controle me because I do what you demand. 🙂 That said, I think it’d be a cool hobby (lol, I typed “hoppy”, but fixed it) to collect and or make drum set replicas out of various materials. Garbage, paper, wood, recycled materials, junk, leftover building supplies, tools, dishes, toys, school supplies, computer parts, foil, wire, anything really. Semi-random, but that’s okay.
And since you demanded a comment, I demand a thundercussion site update. For example, the fact that the band got all ones at the competition on Wednesday and that that’s better than you’ve all done in a while. (congratulations, by the way 🙂 ) And then after Neewolah, you could do the same thing. Or if there’s something more exciting going down with the drumline. I wouldn’t know. 🙂
Happy Friday!
