1/30/06 – Music
Music. I don’t know what I’d do without it. Now don’t think that I am someone who is addicted to my iPod or CD player. Those poeple are just consumers. I’m a producer. I do all sort of percussion stuff. I write music that the drumline uses, and I give drum lessons. I’m looking forward to possibly making music my career, either performing or teaching. I don’t want to be a rock star though…that’s too typical for today’s young musicians. “Oh I want to be a lead guitarist and make millions!” That is totally bogus. I usually don’t like bands that are popular but have barely any talent. I’d much rather pop in a CD and say “Wow! How the heck did they do that?!” Music.
2/1/06 – My Favorite…
My favorite band is currently Tool. They have tons of talent, especially their drummer, Danny Carey. He is originally from Kansas, which indentifies with me. Oddly, the whole band (Tool) is into occult studies, which sometimes gives them a bad name. I totally disagree with that, and don’t base my love for their music on it. The foundation of my love for them is their totally innovative style of music. They are the front runners for new rock, and are completely awesome!!!
2/3/06 – Freewrite
Life has been pretty good this week, but tiring. I haven’t gotten to bed before 9.45pm this week, and I’ve been feeling it during the day. On Wednesday night, I had an Eagle Recognition dinner, where Steve Riley from Baker Universities percussion department, was my mentor. He gave me a ton of good advice, and may be a useful “percussion contact” down the road. Last night (Thursday), I taught my third drum lesson with my frist drum student. He is doing awesome for his third week. Even though he is only 10, he stays focused and interested, giving great effort and asking questions. It’s very satisfying to teach someone what you love while making $15.00 an hour doing it!!
Thanks for reading!

I will never understand how you manage to get to bed so early, and still get everything done. I haven’t gone to bed before 11-11:30 in several months, sometimes as late as 1:00. It’s 10:05 right now and I have to get up at 5:45. Maybe I don’t plan well or I overburden myself… Anyway, more power to ya! It seems as though you really have your head screwed on straight, all though your body might be backwards… hmm…

I understand…the book analysis is throwing off my sleep schedule. I slept for GASP 10 hours on Thursday, it made me so happy.
And speaking of bands…
iTunes, although popular, has some rocking indie stuff on it…like awesome folk, alternative, prog, techno…ahhhhh I love it.
How I ever found out that I like techno?
I don’t know.
Speaking of music…my dad totally asked me to write some psalm tunes for summer. Awesomeness…if I might say so myself they sound totally cool. 🙂
