Ok, so this blog is going to get a little more personal before it gets more technical (ha a blog about drums computer and me)(I guess it fits).
Winter Formal was the shiz. Two of my dear friends were injured (and more this weekend). And homework is really making me mad.
Winter Formal. I went with Amy. Our group of friends went to Bennigans, which was pretty darn good. I had me a steak, so that was cool. We were “fashionably late” to the dance…like 30 minutes, which made absolutely no sense to me. Everyone was going on about “Nah, we can’t be on time!” What the heck?! If an event starts at a certain time, I like to be there on time or perhap *gasp* early! Haha. Anyways, that was my only one little complaint of the evening. Honestly, the rest was pretty dang close to perfect. Tons of fun.
The two dear friends aforementioned. This will sound geeky, but its pretty much overturned my life the past few days. Saturday morning we had a power outage, for like literally one second. That was enough to make our desktop computer shut down. Soooo, my dad went in and turned it on. Windows started booting, but then all the sudden…BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!! Ahhh RUN!!! But I guess it isn’t so bad. We just got it back from the shop today, and its coming back intact, plus a new DVD burner. Ha. My second dear friend, probably closer to my heart, was also gravely injured this weekend. My dad, while I was at Winter Formal, spilled a big sticky drink on my laptop. So, in fact, we knocked out two computers within twelve hours. Anyways, the laptop’s keyboard is shot, but the wireless mouse keeps it hobbeling along (very slowly), with the use of a virtual on screen keyboard. MAN THIS ENTRY TOOK FOREVER WITH THAT THING!!!
Ha just kidding. My parents, realizing that I rely on a laptop for lots of homework, communication with friends, writing music for school, and practicing drum stuff, decided to buy a new laptop. The old laptop was on its last strings anyways…for various reasons. So now, I have a new laptop, but I’m feeling sorry for my parents buying it *snap* like that.
Lastly homework. ARGH. Algebra 2 compression. I have a 90% for that, and I’m very uncomfortable about my last test. Also, since the computer stuff happened this weekend, I didn’t get ANY AP History done. So grr.
Thats what has been happening since my last entry about Mr. Pres. Bush.
Also some REALLY REALLY good quotes today:
A cult is a religion with no political power.
– Tom Wolfe
If your parents never had children, chances are you won’t, either.
– Dick Cavett
Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.
– Dave Barry
Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy.
– Edgar Bergen
HAHAHA!
My dad and I and some of my online buddy genuises have definetly decided that Windows got corrupted on your desktop pc. You now know what the solution is and I’m happy you’re pursuing it tonight (to anyone curious its called Ubuntu)
But Anyways… good luck with Ubuntu and your desktop PC… BTW: Whats the word on that? It doesn’t take that long to repair a corrupt Windows file. NEXT TIME CALL ME BEFORE YOU SHIP YOUR COMPUTER OFF! I guarentee I don’t charge as much (ha … none!) because I could’ve told you the same thing that they’re gonna come back and tell you now.
Cole I really wish you were considerate enough to actually read more than the title of my entry. I stated very clearly that the desktop PC came back YESTERDAY with a new CD burner.
And sorry I didn’t call you, I thought you were going to be at debate all day Saturday (haha :-))
I meant new DVD burner
Wow it pretty much sucks that your comps went out like they did..they had good souls..ha ha JK
anyways, I pretty much know how it is to have stuff spilled on your laptop (but we dont need to talk about that anymore)
