It hurts doesn’t it? But I’m back…at least briefly.

I’m on a mission to write an essay to send in with my applications to University of Central Florida and KU. The essay has to illustrate environment, culture, or family history that has influenced who I am. At first I thought of some shallow things. For example scouting and listing out the points of the scout law (trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent). Mrs. A, my independent study teacher thought this would just look like another list of accomplishments instead of an essay. I’ve had a suggestion to write about how I was encouraged to step out of my box last school year, and arrange a piece of music for the SHHS brass quintet. I figure it would be a cool story and a good example of environment, but I feel as though it covers a relatively too short amount of time and events. I guess it may work out well though, since the essay has to be about 250 words (with another 250 words about how the experience/environment will help me as a student at UCF/KU/where-ever).

I really need to get to my essay, but I will say that it feels good to be a senior and 18 years old. It feels good to be doing tons of music related things. It all feels pretty dang good right now. More later 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

That’s going to be a brilliant essay! Being a short period of time allows you to develop the key points more effectively.

That government story isn’t due tomorrow, is it? I thought he said Tuesday…

It’s becoming really strange for me to think of people younger than me having to put up with college entrance crap. Good luck on it, though!
